Lisa Bowes, BA’88

Award-winning sports journalist Lisa Bowes, BA,88 (Women’s Soccer) has had a storied career since graduating from Western’s Bachelor of Physical Education program in 1988. She covered women’s hockey at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and has worked for TSN, The Score, CBC and CTV. She also made history as the first woman play-by-play announcer with the National Women’s Hockey League.
Lisa is the author of the Lucy Tries Sports children’s series, which encourages readers to become more active through sport. There are currently six books in the series. The first book was published in 2013, and the most recent in 2023.
