Remembering Joseph L. Rotman, BA'57, LLD'09
Western joined others from across Canada and around the world to mourn the passing of Canadian businessman, philanthropist and Western's Chancellor Joseph L. Rotman who passed away on January 27, 2015.
As a young man, Joseph Rotman, BA’57, LLD’09, enrolled in a first-year philosophy course at Western that would change his life and help shape a remarkable business career.
Western’s 21st Chancellor leaves behind an incredible legacy not only for his alma mater but for his country and for people around the world.
Passionate about giving, Mr. Rotman dedicated much of his leadership, business insight and personal wealth to help transform the arts, health care and higher education in Canada.
Western is proud that the Rotman Institute of Philosophy bears his name and continues to challenge the next generation of leaders to think critically, act compassionately and work toward making life better for others.
