Walk the less-travelled "friendly Camino" to enjoy the tradition of hospitality offered to pilgrims since the Middle Ages.
Starting in the colourful UNESCO-listed city of Porto, discover and reflect as you travel from one village to the next on this supported expedition, enjoying a beautiful landscape of beaches and dunes before crossing into Spain to arrive in the wonderful city of Santiago!
This is a true Camino; you will be walking from one village to the next every day, with your luggage transported to the next village inn. The route is carefully designed for easy to manage walking days. This trip is escorted by Portuguese walking guide Horacio Santos, but you are free to walk at your own pace in your own time. You will have a pack of maps and instructions to help you follow the yellow arrows along the well-marked paths and tracks. And should you need to take a break, support is just a phone call away.
If you’ve been contemplating a way to get into shape, this walk may be the perfect incentive. A basic level of fitness required and there are some uphill stretches in part, however, given you only need carry a lightweight day bag and your water supply, which can be replenished in the various villages on route, this is very manageable even for walkers with limited experience. We’ll provide you with “Get ready for your Camino” guidelines to help you train for your walk.
And if you’re a regular walker at home, why not reward yourself with an extended walk in this most beautiful part of the world!
