TO: Western Student
Hi student, I graduated in 1984 (B.A. ACS Finance) when the BofC interest rate was 11.3% and unemployment was 11%. I thought it would be easy to find a good job with B.A. in hand, but quickly found otherwise. Took me 4 months to get a job paying less than expected and I had to move over 1000 kms to boot, so I know how hard things can be. My message is simple .. don't get too down, keep trying, and this too shall pass. Within 3 years after my first job I was making good money and working for a Trust company with all kinds of upward mobility. So always remember .. times WILL get better and your futures remain BRIGHT !! From your Alumni friend, Mike.
