TO: Western Student
By embarking on this journey in a year like this you are doing what none of us have done. Be proud of what you are doing. Be proud of what you have learned. As a member of the Western community as alumni and also staff, I am proud of you for taking on this year and doing your best. As you go through school, I hope you will learn what I did: that feedback and growth are important, and grades do not define you. The sooner you can shift your mindset, the better learning experience you will have. Help one another, and reach out online for connection. Connect with the city, and get outside once a day. The outdoors are always open, and there are gorgeous trails accessible from all corners of campus, reach out for ideas where to start!
