Mustang rower Kira Mels-Williams reflects on her experience attending the 2024 Western Mustangs Hall of Fame Dinner - meeting Marnie McBean, BA'97, LLD'03, celebrating the 1980 Women's Heavyweight Rowing Team, and honouring the enduring spirit of athletic excellence at Western.

Our 2024 Western Mustangs Hall of Fame class included two ‘duos,’ including Pam McKenzie (nee Middleton), BA’78, BEd’79, and Don McKenzie, BESc’80, who were both inducted this year – Pam as part of the 1980 Heavy Eight rowing team, and Don as part of the 1977 football team. Pam shares her and Don's story. 

2024 Lifetime Achievement Award winner and team inductee, Angela Schneider, BA'82, MA'85, MA'87, PhD'93, reflects on the Western Mustangs Sports Hall of Fame, paying homeage to its history while celebrating how it has evolved.

One of the greatest gifts of memorializing Western athletes through the museum is the chance to highlight and celebrate the achievements and greatness of past and present Mustangs. It is an honour to share the stories and accomplishments of six Western athletes who we lost this year.
