MakerBars is an innovative energy bar company and inventors of the first energy bar kit (hey, that's where the name comes from)! We are on a mission to provide nutritious and tasty snacks that customers can feel good for themselves, for others, and for the environment. We have launched our protein-packed energy balls with fair trade ingredients and the first product to use home compostable packaging. What Drives Us (Our Story) In 2018 alone, over 2B snack bar wrappers were sent to the landfill, not to mention those that missed the landfill. Greenpeace stated food wrappers as the top polluter in Canada. Our founder, Josh Reding, grew up (in Chatham!) cooking with his mother and grandma, and was an avid athlete in many sports. He combined his love for good food with a dual degree in business and engineering at Western to create a business that fuels busy people. His third passion is social impact and satisfied the craving by volunteering in various non-for-profit organizations. Bringing it back to food, he saw a need in the snack bar industry: healthy options, ethically sourced ingredients, and sustainable packaging. Que: MakerBars Kits and energy bites I'd love to connect with you. - Josh Reding
