Global trombone talent converges at Western for historic international festival
From July 16-19, more than 600 trombonists joined together for the first-ever Canadian location of the International Trombone Festival (ITF). Hosted at Western by faculty member Denis Jiron, the four-day event is an annual gathering of the world's trombone community where enthusiasts can hear and learn from renowned musicians and educators.

Stephan Moccio, piano
On October 1, alum Stephan Moccio will perform a solo piano concert as part of a two-day residency at Western. One of the most compelling writers in music today, Moccio possesses a rare power to express incredibly complex and nuanced emotions through melody alone. All proceeds from concert ticket sales support Music student scholarships.
